SEO
All six no-code builders offer essential on-page SEO tools, including page titles, meta descriptions, image alt tags and integrations such as Google Analytics. However, from there, the quality of SEO performance varies.

Pixel Together offers auto-generating clean, SEO-optimised code, canonical links and super-fast load times to maximise SEO. Pixel Together sites consistently outperform other website builders for SEO rankings.

Webflow provides integrations with third-party SEO tools like Moz and SEMrush.

Pixel Together, Webflow, Wix and Squarespace all provide helpful SEO tools, including built-in XML sitemap generation and support for schema markup.

As well as integrations with Google Analytics and SEMrush, Wix guides are helpful for beginners, however the rendering format of Wix site code has historically not been SEO-friendly and has caused Wix sites to rank lower than other website builders.
Duda offers third-party integrations with Yoast SEO and SEMrush.

Go Daddy offers two SEO tools, each for an additional monthly cost. One is a keyword analyser; the other is a managed SEO service. Unfortunately, neither option are particularly advanced, according to reviews.

Design options
Pixel Together and Webflow both provide a visual canvas, however Pixel Together has a more user-friendly, intuitive design system. Drag and drop functionality within the Pixel Together editor and the option to customise each element gives almost complete design flexibility in an easy-to-learn platform.

Webflow utilises a technical visual editor that allows the user to create custom layouts, animations, and interactions and is fully responsive. The visual canvas allows for more design flexibility than Squarespace, Wix, Go Daddy or Duda. However, the drag and drop is not intuitive compared to design tools and has a steep learning curve, making it more suited to technical users.

Wix and Squarespace offer hundreds of customisable, professionally designed no-code templates, allowing users to create visually appealing websites quickly. Both provide a level of drag and drop functionality, responsive design options, image editing and a range of design tools. Additionally, Wix ADI asks a series of questions to help quickly build a site for you. These two builders rely heavily on templates, and if you are not after a template website then Pixel Together or Webflow are better options.

Duda is another template-based platform with drag-and-drop functionality; however, it doesn’t offer as extensive a range or sleekly designed templates as Wix or Squarespace.

Unlike the other website builders, Go Daddy doesn’t utilise a drag-and-drop system. Instead, a range of questions about your business generates a selection of appropriate templates. Options to update the text, change images and add pages are available, but customisation is limited.

Hosting & Security
The baseline hosting inclusions on no-code web-building platforms are: fully managed hosting packages, including automatic backups, SSL (secure sockets layer) encryption and a global CDN (content delivery network) to ensure fast and reliable page load times around the world. In terms of security, all six no-code builders include SSL encryption, spam protection, automatic back-ups, secure administration and more.

In general, all six website builders have got you covered when it comes to hosting and security, unlike choosing the Wordpress path where there is a lot to worry about! (read more here).

There are however some differences in the quality and additions.

Pixel Together also offers unlimited bandwidth and disk space to all users, meaning an image-heavy site will run smoothly and load quickly. This also means that scalability is easy and efficient. In addition, upgrades happen without maintenance windows, so there is no need to take your site offline.

Pixel Together, Webflow, and Duda use Amazon Web Services (AWS) for their hosting infrastructure, which provides reliable and scalable hosting, ultra-fast page loading speeds and high bandwidth.

Squarespace and Wix have data centres in multiple locations globally, however it is worth noting that Wix sites can be slower to load than other no-code builders.

Go Daddy’s hosting options vary according to their pricing packages, with all your site, files and data hosted on its physical servers, in multiple locations worldwide.

Support

While each no-code builder offers support through multiple channels, the quality does vary.

Support is a stand out feature for Pixel Together, receiving consistently positive feedback for customer support, with users commenting on the personal service and extensive expertise, which means successful problem-solving of more complex issues and straightforward problems.

“They [the Pixel team] consistently reply quickly, can discuss problems, and demonstrate a great sense of understanding. Often in the process of talking through the issue, the Pixel team will find solutions within the platform that we hadn’t recognised. And they never get frustrated!”

Webflow offers support through its knowledge base, video tutorials, community forum, email support, and priority support for higher-tier plans designed to help users troubleshoot any issues they encounter and get the most out of the platform.

Squarespace’s 24/7 customer support gets consistently positive reviews, as does Wix, especially for their call-back option.

Duda’s 24/7 support is only available on the custom plan, but the platform receives positive reviews for its service.

Go Daddy’s 24/7 support isn’t available everywhere, and there are multiple security steps before beginning to talk to a representative. However, you can request and receive help via SMS, which can be an effective solution for more straightforward issues.

Pixel Together offers much greater flexibility than template-centric website builders, offering drag-and-drop functionality and highly customisable elements in an easy-to-learn visual canvas without requiring any coding knowledge

Pixel Together and Webflow both provide a visual canvas, however Pixel Together has a more user-friendly, intuitive design system. Drag and drop functionality within the Pixel Together editor and the option to customise each element gives almost complete design flexibility in an easy-to-learn platform

Stand out features
First, let’s start with us. Pixel Together offers much greater flexibility than template-centric website builders, offering drag-and-drop functionality and highly customisable elements in an easy-to-learn visual canvas without requiring any coding knowledge. Customers love that changes to the style or functionality of a site can be seen instantaneously across all devices, perfect for client working sessions. Finally, Pixel offers extensive support and constant feature updates to ensure customers’ sites are optimised for SEO, security and the ability to achieve high Google Lighthouse scores.

Webflow offers fast and scalable hosting with advanced security, making it a reliable choice for those looking to create a secure website. Webflow also provides over 400 free lessons to help users learn how to use the platform effectively. However, due to the technical nature of the editor and advanced flexibility, the platform does have a steep learning curve. In addition, the level of customisation available on Webflow may make it more complex, and users may find that it takes longer to learn than other website builders. Webflow is a great alternative to Wordpress for advanced websites, however it is more complicated to use than the other website builders and is best suited to more technical users.

Wix’s drag-and-drop editor and range of templates make it easy for users to create professional-looking websites quickly and without needing to code. In addition, users can easily switch between desktop and mobile editors, making it easy to optimise their site for mobile users. Wix also offers features such as online bookings, video backgrounds, and the ability to manage content from integrated databases (for developers only). The Wix ADI makes it easy for beginners to get started, and the platform also offers an easy automated backup and restore feature. However, the platform can also be slow on mobile and takes longer to load, and users may find it easy to misalign or make mistakes due to their level of control. Wix sites are not-responsive (there is a separate mobile version) and the SEO performance of Wix sites can be lower than other website builders.

Squarespace is known for its sleek and modern templates, designed to make it easy for users to create professional-looking websites quickly, with the assurance they will have access to powerful e-commerce features and robust security and support. However, the sheer number of Squarespace sites means that the templates have become highly overused, so creating a unique aesthetic or feel to a Squarespace site is challenging.

Duda remains a strong option for those looking to create professional, multilingual websites with solid performance and analytics features. However, it does have a few cons to consider, such as the inability to easily switch templates and a less flexible editor than Pixel Together or Webflow.

Go Daddy is a beginner's site builder for those with limited experience building websites who require few customisation options and want to build a relatively simple site.
